On the 20th of August 2008 this website turned 3 years old. To celebrate, I organized a competition. The competition was to think of the biggest number possible, and write it in a 4 inch by 2 inch box. The contest closed in October, and you can see the results here.
If you missed the competition, why not organise your own? I've changed the entry form to make it suitable for a class-wide or a school-wide contest. You can get the modified entry form here. Photocopy it, distribute it - and make sure you inform your class of the closing date for your contest... This contest is probably best suited to high school students, or the higher grades of elementary school.
By the way, before you photocopy it, you might want to obscure the copyright info in the footer of the form - in case any of your students come to this site, and get lots of good ideas from here!
